The “Blues” are looking for a positive result to take a step toward qualifying for the League Phase of the competition, ahead of next week’s second leg (August 27).
Qualification would mark the Paphos-based team’s third consecutive appearance in the League Phase of a European competition. This is a special achievement that everyone on the team wants to accomplish, and as Ricardo Sa Pinto noted in yesterday’s press conference, he accepts the label of “favorite.”
On the purely competitive side, the Portuguese coach cannot count on the services of Dragomir, Mamantov, Zaza, Kyriakidis, and Gorter.
Other than that, Correia is back and expected to play.
Paphos’s probable starting lineup: Matzeski, Ioannou, Luiz, Goldar, Bruno, Sunic, Pepe, Guga, Biel, Correa, Lele
