Starting today, August 20, 2026, a new feature called “Digital Citizen” app, through which every parent can add the digital ID of their minor children to their app.
Specifically, the mother and/or father of each child can now store on their cell phone, through the “Digital Citizen” app, a digital copy of their minor child’s ID, so that it is easily, quickly, and reliably accessible when needed.

To take advantage of this new feature, the child’s physical ID must already have been issued and be valid.
This new feature does not affect the ability of young people aged 14 and older to keep their digital ID in the “Digital Citizen” app on their own cell phone.
It should be noted that digital copies of official documents created through the “Digital Citizen” app are fully equivalent to the corresponding physical documents. Therefore, during the identity verification process, citizens may present the digital document via the app instead of the corresponding physical document, and this is accepted without exception. Citizens are encouraged to contact the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy and report any instances where the presentation of digital documents via the app was not accepted.
It should also be noted that the digital documents created through the “Digital Citizen” do not constitute international travel documents and cannot be used for the purpose of traveling abroad.
“Digital Citizen” is available for iOS and Android devices via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
This new feature further advances the digitization of government services, making citizens’ daily lives easier and providing parents with immediate and secure access to the digital documents of their minor children.
