In his announcement, Vasilis Papakonstantinou explained that his health does not allow him to continue with his scheduled performances, while promising that his return to the stage won’t be long in coming.
“Unfortunately, a persistent case of pneumonia that has been troubling me for quite some time is preventing me from continuing with my summer concert schedule,” he noted.
At the same time, he sent a personal message to his fans, emphasizing: “I promise we’ll see each other soon in person at squares, stadiums, festivals, theaters, and on the streets.”
His concert in Cyprus has also been canceled
Among the concerts that will not take place is his performance in Cyprus, which was scheduled for September 4 in Deftera. The Doxa Deftera Association announced the cancellation of the concert, expressing its regret over the situation, as well as its warm wishes to Vasilis Papakonstantinou for a speedy recovery.
“We feel exactly the same disappointment as you do, as it was a huge dream for us to experience a concert by the ‘Eternal Teenager’ in our community, but when it comes to health, everything else takes a back seat,” the announcement stated, among other things.
The organizers also wished the singer a speedy and strong return to the squares, stadiums, and festivals, while instructions are expected to be provided regarding refunds for those who had already purchased tickets.
