Two cases of Dengue Fever were reported in Cyprus last month, according to the Cyprus Public Health Organization (OKYPY).
Specifically, according to the Agency, a woman with a travel history visited the emergency department of a public hospital when she developed symptoms.
During the examination, the healthcare professional who came into contact with the woman’s blood also became infected with the virus.

Both patients were discharged several days ago.
The OKYPY announcement follows reports of two additional cases of West Nile virus in July, clarifying that these two cases actually involve dengue fever.
