Carlos Alcaraz is set to return to the courts, as he has confirmed his participation in the 2026 U.S. Open, having recovered from the wrist injury that has kept him out of action since last April.
The Spaniard was forced to miss both the French Open and Wimbledon, but he has now overcome the problem and is preparing to return to competition after about five months. In fact, his comeback will take place in New York, where he celebrated winning the US Open last year.
The announcement had a… soccer-themed twist, as Alcaraz shared the news via a joint post with well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano. With the iconic phrase “Here we go” as a backdrop, the Spaniard confirmed that he will indeed be competing in the year’s final Grand Slam.
The big question now concerns Alcaraz’s competitive readiness, as he will be called upon to return directly to action at a Grand Slam. New York, however, brings back fond memories for him, and he will aim to repeat last year’s success.
