The team’s press officer, Aristos Panagidis, referring, among other things, to the stadium, the season opener against Paphos, and upcoming transfer moves, while also announcing 2–3 more signings.
Here is a detailed breakdown of everything he said
Regarding the stadium: “Based on the information we have today, Karmiotissa will play at the ‘Stelios Kyriakidis’ Stadium for the first matchday. We were informed that the Licensing Authority will meet today to review the information it has received from the GSO.”
Regarding the request to change the home venue: “The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) ruled on it yesterday. I believe this is the best solution, not just because of the distance. We know there are some issues, but for us, the “Stelios Kyriakides” Stadium is the most practical solution. I repeat, however, that the Tsirion Stadium is our first choice.”
Regarding tomorrow’s friendly against Anorthosis: “Tomorrow’s match against Anorthosis at 7 p.m. is our last official friendly. The coaching staff will have the opportunity to test players and draw conclusions. Clearly, we’re more interested in our performance than the result.”
On the season opener against Pafos: “The game against Pafos will be tough. We want to be ready for the first matchday. Our goal this year is to stay in the top division.”
On the three latest signings: “We’re very pleased with the different qualities these players bring. Júlio César, Marinov, and Giannakopoulos. We’re talking about a right back, a center back, and a goalkeeper. We’d mentioned in recent days that we needed a little more time. I want to say that we’ll have more announcements in the coming days, as our planning isn’t complete yet. We’ll be announcing another 2–3 players.”
