Once the formal procedures are completed, the Lithuanian real estate agent—who was arrested on May 16 in France on suspicion of misappropriating Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied areas, will be extradited to the Republic of Cyprus.
Competent sources confirmed this information to CNA without specifying a timeline, noting that it will take place “as soon as the standard procedures are completed.”
The Lithuanian woman had been arrested at Nice Airport pursuant to a European arrest warrant issued by the Republic of Cyprus and had filed an appeal in early July against the execution of the warrant, which the French court rejected.
As reported by CNA on July 11, the appeal would take between two weeks and one month to be reviewed by the competent court, which is what happened, and the court decided to reject the 53-year-old woman’s request to suspend the execution of the European arrest warrant. Thus, the warrant will be executed, and the Lithuanian woman will be handed over to the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus to stand trial on the charges she faces, according to the same sources.
