Armando González's transfer to Olympiacos has become a reality!

On Saturday night (August 22), the “red-and-white” club announced the signing of the 23-year-old Mexican striker, who had been in Greece since Friday afternoon.

To finalize the deal, the Piraeus club paid Chivas 8.5 million euros plus an additional 2 million euros in bonuses, with the Mexican club retaining a 20% resale percentage.

In its announcement, Olympiacos did not specify the duration of the contract signed with the young star.

The announcement in full:

“Olympiacos FC announces the signing of Mexican forward Armando González. Born on April 20, 2003, in the city of Celaya, the international striker played for Chivas, where he put in impressive performances, scoring 24 goals in the 2025 Apertura and 2026 Clausura.

“Hormiga,” as he is nicknamed, moved up to Chivas’s first team and made his debut in January 2024, having come up through the club’s youth system. The prestigious Guadalajara club boasts the best youth academy program in Mexico and one of the best in the world.
