A 39-year-old man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after his vehicle struck a tree and then burst into flames, resulting in its complete destruction.
The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday on the road leading to the Hala Sultan Mosque in Larnaca.
According to Chrysostomos Panagiotou, the Traffic Chief of the Larnaca Police Department, on a left-hand curve past the mosque, under circumstances that are under investigation, the 39-year-old lost control of his vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a tree. Subsequently, the vehicle burst into flames and was completely destroyed.
The 39-year-old was taken to the hospital for examination and, according to Mr. Panagiotou, was released after sustaining only minor injuries.
The driver was administered a breathalyzer test, which showed a reading of zero, and the drug test was also negative.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the Larnaca Traffic Police.

A man with a European passport lost control of his vehicle while driving near the Hala Sultan Mosque, causing it to veer off the road and come to a stop. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was released a short time later.
According to Chrysostomos Panagiotou, Head of the Traffic Division of the Larnaca Police Department, the incident occurred last night. The vehicle was taken to the Larnaca Traffic Police for further examination.
