One of the passengers on the helicopter that landed today on a beach with swimmers in Spetses was arrested after a police officer spotted him throwing a bag of drugs. The arrest took place as part of the authorities’ response following the helicopter’s landing on Zogeria Beach, and the case has now taken on a new dimension and is the focus of the investigation.
The suspect is a 39-year-old Greek man (H.S.) who was on board the helicopter with a foreign woman. Authorities are examining all evidence related to both the possession of the drugs and the circumstances under which the helicopter, which departed from Keratea, ended up landing on a beach where swimmers were present on the island in the Argosaronic Gulf.

The Mystery of the Helicopter
Mystery surrounds the case of the helicopter landing on Spetses, which occurred on a beach with swimmers, just a few weeks after a similar incident in Sarakiniko, Milos.
According to the latest information from protothema.gr, the German helicopter pilot claimed that he was unable to land at the island’s helipad because a moped was blocking his path, and thus chose the beach at Zogeria instead. The Piraeus prosecutor also intervened in the case; while he requested the police’s preliminary investigation files, he did not press charges. Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Mr. Christos Dimas, speaking to protothema.gr, stated that the incident is being investigated by the relevant authorities of the Civil Aviation Authority.
We remind readers that the helicopter carrying the two passengers landed on a beach where swimmers were present on Spetses, specifically in the Zogeria area. Police and Coast Guard officers rushed to the scene, while the relevant authorities launched an investigation to determine the circumstances under which the landing took place and whether the prescribed procedures were followed.
According to reports, the two passengers were most likely planning to board a yacht afterward. Ultimately, they left the area by water taxi.
It is worth noting, however, that during the landing procedure, the strong winds from the propellers kicked up a thick cloud of dust and sand, causing beachgoers to move away from the area.
The incident sparked controversy, as the landing took place in an area where people were enjoying a swim, creating a safety concern for the swimmers.
