Tottenham fans had hoped that last year’s tragic season was just a brief setback, but their season opener in the new Premier League season left little room for optimism, as Roberto De Zerbi’s team suffered a crushing 3-0 away loss to Brentford!
It looked like it was going to be a tough one for the Spurs from the start, as they watched Lewis-Potter open the scoring from close range following an excellent team play by the home side just 12 minutes in. In the 33rd minute, it was 2-0, with Janelt grabbing the rebound after a save by Kinski and scoring from close range.

If anyone expected to see a reaction from Tottenham after the break, they were immediately disappointed, as in the 49th minute Kayode made it 3-0 from close range; the Bees were then awarded a penalty but saw Thiago hit the crossbar. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, with the surprises (?) continuing following Manchester United’s loss to Jolakis’s Hull.
