The deaths of five people found in a house in a rural area of the U.S. state of Oregon (northwest) over the weekend are being investigated as a series of intentional homicides, local law enforcement officials announced yesterday, Sunday.
The victims were found Saturday inside a home in a rural community near Forest Grove, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Portland, when police officers responded to the scene following a report of a vehicle fire.

A man suspected of killing the five people was found dead, and authorities believe he committed suicide, local law enforcement announced yesterday, Sunday. Several pets were also found dead at the crime scene, according to authorities.
“In the 22 years I’ve been here, I’ve never investigated or seen a crime scene this complicated,” noted Washington County Sheriff Caprice Massi. During the investigation, a 36-year-old man, Benjamin Charles Parker, who was considered a suspect in the murders, was located and identified. Police found him dead inside his vehicle in Inumclo, Washington County, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) from Seattle. He is believed to have committed suicide, according to Sheriff Massey’s office.
