The autopsy on the body of the unfortunate 29-year-old Giorgos Georgiou from Larnaca, who died on Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle, has been completed. According to Medical Examiner Nikolas Charalambous, his death was caused by a severe traumatic brain injury resulting from a traffic accident.

It should be noted that the fatal traffic collision occurred around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday evening on the Keliou–Trullon Road.

Specifically, the motorcycle ridden by the 29-year-old on the aforementioned road, under circumstances that are under investigation, collided with a car driven by a 28-year-old woman, with a 32-year-old man as her passenger and two young children, aged four and two, in the back seats.

According to Chrysostomos Panagiotou, Head of Traffic for the Larnaca Police Department, the large-displacement motorcycle appears to belong to someone else.

Both the motorcyclist and the car’s passengers were injured and transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where the 29-year-old was pronounced dead, while all the car’s passengers received first aid and were discharged.

According to information currently under investigation, Georgiou was not wearing a helmet, while the driver of the car underwent alcohol and drug tests, both of which came back negative.

The Larnaca Traffic Police are continuing their investigation.
