Police are currently investigating the accident that occurred yesterday afternoon on Christodoulou Hatzipavlou Street in Limassol, sending two people to the hospital, one of whom is fighting for his life.
It was around 6 p.m. when a 56-year-old scooter rider collided with a motorcycle driven by a 35-year-old man. As a result of the collision, the motorcycle skidded along the road until it came to a stop beneath a parked bus. “Both were taken
to the hospital. The 35-year-old motorcycle rider sustained scrapes and bruises all over his body, while the 56-year-old rider of the personal mobility device is in serious condition.”

Spokesperson According to the attending physicians, the 56-year-old has a skull fracture, a ruptured spleen, and a pneumothorax, and is hospitalized in critical condition. The 35-year-old motorcycle driver underwent alcohol and drug tests, both of which came back negative.
Police Campaign
During the two enforcement campaigns carried out by the police over the past month regarding the use of Personal Mobility Devices, a total of 1,042 citations were issued and 28 devices were confiscated.
This week, traffic police checks are focusing on combating distracted driving, as part of the related campaign that began today and will last until next Sunday.
Distracted driving is the leading cause of serious and fatal collisions, as it accounts for 22.1% of traffic fatalities and 29.4% of serious injuries recorded between 2023 and 2025.
