Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Monday evening (August 24) that Iran had attempted to assassinate one of his sons.
As he himself noted, the disclosure of this information had been prohibited for months.

Speaking in a live interview with Channel 14’s military correspondent, Noam Amir, Netanyahu described the alleged plot and linked it to the need for constant protection of his family. “There’s something that’s unbelievable. Iran ‘targeted’ one of my sons. It tried to assassinate one of my sons. That is why this security is not a luxury. Without it, they will succeed. People must exercise restraint even during an election campaign.”
The prime minister also noted that he had spoken with the head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), David Zini, and asked him to ensure adequate protection for every prime ministerial candidate.
