Olympiacos’s spending spree—with the signings of Remo Freuler, Nair Tiknizan, and Armando Gonzalez, will continue, as the club is targeting two or even three more players before the transfer window closes.
As for the wingers, the name that has been mentioned most frequently lately is that of Rubén Vargas of Sevilla, who was actually left out of the squad for the match against Athletic Bilbao.
And according to Italian journalist Federico Ferrara and “TuttoMercato,” the “Red-and-Whites” have reached an agreement with the 28-year-old attacking midfielder. As reported in the article, Ruben Vargas’s transfer is expected to be finalized within the next few hours, with Olympiacos having agreed to a fee of up to 12 million euros, with an additional 2 million euros in performance-based bonuses, as well as a 10% share in the event of the player’s future sale.
Last season with Sevilla, he recorded three goals and six assists in 25 appearances. If Olympiacos signs him, Vargas will be reunited with his former teammate in Switzerland, Remo Freuler.
