The 21-year-old man who died tragically on Monday had gone swimming in the sea near the old port of Limassol with his cousin.
The legally mandated autopsy on the body of the unfortunate 21-year-old from Afghanistan was performed on Tuesday by Medical Examiner Nikolas Charalambous, who determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation resulting from drowning.
As reported earlier by Alpha’s Limassol correspondent Erica Kavazi on the “Alpha Summer” program, the unfortunate young man was with his cousin when they jumped off a pier; however, neither of them was a strong swimmer, and despite their efforts to reach shore, they were unable to do so.
