The police, with the aim of preventing traffic accidents as well as to foster a culture of safe driving in our country, continue to conduct daily traffic checks throughout Cyprus’s road network.

During these checks, particular emphasis is placed on those offenses that have been proven to be the leading causes of fatal and serious traffic accidents, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, using a cell phone while driving, and failing to wear a seatbelt or a helmet.
