Our new national team coach, Nikos Nikolaou, has begun work with the first training sessions of the U-17 national team.
The first phase of training began last Monday and is currently underway at the Pyrgos Community Stadium, without the players who compete abroad.
“It’s a great responsibility for every player—it’s the best thing for any young player who gets called up to our national team to represent his country. As I have observed with great pleasure, there is plenty of talent and quality on the team, and the competition will help our effort to achieve something more.
This ‘something more’ will certainly be achieved through qualification, which is also our Federation’s plan,” Nikos Nikolaou stated, among other things, at the first training camp with our young national team players.
The effort to assemble the team that will participate in the UEFA qualifiers will certainly continue with friendly matches, and in September (on the 8th and 10th, respectively), we will face Lithuania on the road.
Our official matches are scheduled for late October in Cyprus.
