After the end of the season in May, Andreas Keravnos announced his decision to retire from active play.
The Cypriot goalkeeper, who played for AEL, remains with the “Lions” but has decided to switch… sports. The new season will find him playing for the “Blue-and-Yellows’” futsal team.

The announcement: “AEL Futsal is delighted to announce the addition of Andreas Keravnos to our team’s roster ahead of the new season.
For us, this signing means much more than just a new addition to the roster.
Andreas, until recently the goalkeeper for the AEL soccer team, decided to end his soccer career.
But not his journey with AEL.
Because when AEL is a part of you, it’s hard to stay away from it.
Andreas accepted AEL Futsal’s offer and is making a fresh start, this time on the futsal court, with one clear goal: to help the team he holds dear.
A true Lion, an athlete who knows what it means to wear the AEL crest and who joins our team bringing something that can’t be taught or bought: a love for this jersey.
His experience between the posts, his personality, his professionalism, and his mindset are key elements for the new AEL Futsal team we’re building.
And his presence also sends a message about what we want to create: a team with quality and ambition, but above all, a team made up of people who know what AEL stands for.
From the grass to the court.
“Andreas, welcome to AEL Futsal.”
