Stavros Malas, Chair of the Special Scientific Committee on the Restructuring of Livestock Farming, submitted two reports to the President of the Republic, Nicos Christodoulides.
The two reports concern:

As he noted, following instructions from the President of the Republic, it has been agreed that the Commission’s study and proposals will be presented publicly in the coming days, with the participation of all relevant agencies and stakeholders.
“The goal is to ensure full transparency and substantive dialogue regarding the proposals for the recovery, modernization, and long-term restructuring of the Cypriot livestock sector. The public presentation of the reports will serve as the starting point for the broader discussion that is needed, so that the major crisis caused by Foot-and-Mouth Disease can be transformed into an opportunity for substantial reorganization and the creation of a more productive, sustainable, and resilient livestock sector for Cyprus.»

“A very thorough study”
“The Special Scientific Committee for the reconstruction of the livestock sector has carried out a very thorough study,” said Government Spokesperson Mr. Konstantinos Letympiotis today.
Speaking to reporters at the Presidential Palace during his press briefing, and when asked about the meeting held this morning between the President of the Republic and the Head of the Special Scientific Committee for the Restructuring of the Livestock Sector, Mr. Stavros Malas, the Spokesperson said that “the President was briefed by the Committee.
The goal is to rebuild a key sector in our country—the livestock sector.
A very thorough study has been conducted, and we must thank both Mr. Malas and the members of the Committee. The findings presented today to the President of the Republic are both specific and focused on the medium and long term.
On the instructions of the President of the Republic, the relevant stakeholders will be briefed in the very near future—and may in fact have already begun to be briefed. A presentation of these findings will be made to all relevant stakeholders, so that a constructive exchange of views can take place to finalize their definitive form, enabling us to move on to the next stage, which is now the adoption and implementation of these findings.”
When asked, he said that the scope and depth of the findings are very extensive.
