Without much trouble, Benfica once again defeated Aarhus 3-1, this time on the road, and advanced to the group stage of the Europa League with an aggregate score of 6-2. Vangelis Pavlidis started for the winners, though—surprisingly—he didn’t score this time!
Viktoria Plzeň also pulled off a massive comeback, crushing a 10-man Red Star 5-1 in extra time, sending the Serbs—who had won 3-0 in Belgrade—to the Conference League.
Beşiktaş suffered a painless defeat; despite losing 1-0 to Žalgiris, they advanced, with Anderlecht and Ferencváros also securing their spots following home victories against Kairat Almaty (3-0) and Trabzonspor (4-0), respectively—with Mohamed Salah’s team advancing to the Conference League.
