The life of a 76-year-old man came to a tragic end when he was struck by a passing car on Thursday evening in Agioi Anargyroi.
The accident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Demokratias Avenue, in the lane heading toward Kifissou Avenue, at the intersection with Koronaiou Street.

According to reports, a 28-year-old woman, who was driving her car, struck the 76-year-old man, fatally injuring him.
An EKAV ambulance rushed to the scene immediately. Paramedics took the man to the Nikaia General State Hospital, where, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead.
The 28-year-old driver was arrested on the spot. A breathalyzer test revealed that she had not consumed alcohol, and a blood test is expected to be conducted as part of the investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident.
The 28-year-old is expected to appear before a magistrate today, facing a charge of negligent homicide.
This is yet another fatal traffic accident on the roads of Attica, highlighting once again the serious issue of road safety.
