The situation surrounding Julián Álvarez’s future at Atlético remains unclear. The Argentine forward was absent from the “Roji Blancos’” training session for the third consecutive day on Friday.
His absence from Wednesday and Thursday’s training sessions had been attributed to illness as well as his poor mental state following intense criticism from Madrid fans after he publicly expressed his desire to join Barcelona.
Atlético made it clear yesterday that they have no intention of selling him to the Catalans, however, the possibility of him being transferred to a team outside of Spain has not been ruled out, with Arsenal reportedly interested in signing him.
The 26-year-old star, who is under contract through 2030, has made 107 appearances, scoring 49 goals and providing 17 assists for Atlético.
