An Alarm Status (risk category 5) is forecast for tomorrow in Crete, Rhodes, and Karpathos, according to the Fire Risk Forecast Map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection. At the same time, a very high fire risk is forecast for tomorrow in many areas of mainland Greece and the islands.
Specifically, an extreme fire risk—Alert Status (risk category 5)—is forecast for tomorrow in the following regions:
- Region of Crete
- South Aegean Region (Rhodes Regional Unit, Karpathos Regional Unit)
A very high fire risk (risk category 4) is forecast for tomorrow in the following areas:
- Attica Region (including the island of Kythira)
- Central Greece Region (Euboea Regional Unit)
- North Aegean Region (Regional Units of Lesbos, Chios, Samos, and Ikaria)
- South Aegean Region (Cyclades Regional Unit, Kalymnos Regional Unit, Kos Regional Unit)
- Peloponnese Region (Laconia Regional Unit)
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has notified the relevant government agencies involved, as well as the regional authorities and municipalities in the above areas, to maintain a heightened state of civil protection readiness in order to respond immediately to any fire incidents.

In addition, as announced by the Fire Department, Fire Service personnel remain on general alert in areas where an extreme fire risk (risk category 5), while fire department personnel in areas where a very high risk of fire is expected (risk category 4).
At the same time, aerial surveillance patrols are continuing, as are patrols by firefighting, police, and military forces.
At the same time, for the above areas, the Civil Protection Action Plan for addressing risks posed by wildfires is being implemented; under this plan, among other measures, the implementation of a precautionary ban on vehicle traffic and the presence of visitors in national parks, forests, and “vulnerable” areas.
Finally, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection advises citizens to be particularly careful and to avoid outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause a fire, such as burning dry grass and branches or yard trimmings, the use of machinery that produces sparks, such as circular saws and welding equipment; the use of outdoor grills; smoking bees; discarding lit cigarettes; and so on. It should also be noted that burning fields is prohibited during the fire prevention season.
