A major fire broke out at a waste treatment facility in northwest London, causing serious transportation disruptions and leading to the suspension of service on the entire Metropolitan line of the Underground.
According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), 125 firefighters with 20 fire trucks have been deployed to battle the blaze. The fire broke out in an industrial area on Hannah Close, in Nissen, and thick smoke has blanketed the area and is visible from several kilometers away, even from the center of the British capital.
Due to the large amount of smoke, authorities have urged residents in the area to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.

“We are continuing to work with the London Fire Brigade to determine which services can be safely operated for both passengers and our staff,”, said a TFL spokesperson.
The Brigade’s Control Room has received over 70 calls reporting the fire in Brent.
