Thomas Kaminski, the “Greens’” latest signing, gave his first comments as an Omonia player in an interview with OMONOIA TV.
The Belgian goalkeeper discussed, among other things, his initial feelings after signing his contract, the reasons he accepted the club’s offer, his first stint in Cyprus, and his current physical condition.

In detail:
Welcome to Omonia. We wish you every success here. What are your initial thoughts after signing your contract with the team?
I’m obviously very happy. It’s an honor for me to play for such a great club, and I’m truly very happy to be here.
What were the main reasons that led you to accept Omonia’s offer?
Obviously, it’s a team that competes to win, to claim championships, and to participate in European competitions. I think that speaks volumes in itself. It’s a great club with a very large fan base.
Did you talk to anyone before deciding to come here? Maybe the coach or someone else?
Yes, I spoke with the coach, Simos, who played a key role in bringing me here. From the very beginning, I had a very good feeling about both of the people I spoke with. As I said, I’ve known Omonia since I was in Cyprus 12 years ago, and it’s an honor to be here.
What do you remember from your first stint in Cyprus?
Very tough games against Omonia, every single time. As I said, both the fan base and the stadium always made for very difficult conditions when you played against them. Omonia has always had very good teams.
I know that Omonia has made great strides in terms of its organizational structure as well as the teams it has built. And yes, I’m proud to now be part of this team.
It’s a great club with big goals, and there’s a lot of pressure from the fans—from everyone. When you win, expectations are very high. And I think that’s a good thing. That’s why you play soccer: to win, to become champions again, and to make everyone happy.
How is your physical condition? Are you ready to help the team right away?
I’m absolutely ready to help right from the start, and I can’t wait to get going.
What can you promise to the Omonia fans?
That I’ll always give my best and strive to repay the trust and appreciation they show in their team. I’ll always step onto the field giving 500% effort.
As I said, I’m truly very happy to be here and very proud to be part of this team.
