The first joint flight for the forced return of illegally staying third-country nationals took place on August 26, 2026, from Cyprus in cooperation with Frontex.
The joint flight, which was organized by the Aliens and Immigration Service with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection, included, in addition to Cyprus, the Greek and Bulgarian authorities.

In total, 35 third-country nationals who were residing illegally in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus were repatriated, 15 third-country nationals by the Greek authorities and one by the Bulgarian authorities, bringing the total number of repatriated individuals to 51.
It is worth noting that from the beginning of the year through August 26, 2026, 6,027 third-country nationals have been repatriated to their countries of origin by the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus through voluntary and forced return procedures.
