Kenan Kontra is now in Heraklion, and his transfer to OFI is entering its final stages. The 33-year-old Bosnian forward traveled to Crete on Friday afternoon, following an agreement reached between the Greek Cup champions and Ferencváros regarding his acquisition.

On Friday afternoon, Kontró will undergo the standard medical exams, with the results expected on Saturday. If all goes smoothly, OFI will proceed with the official announcement, finalizing a transfer that had been on track to be agreed upon in recent days.

Kontro’s Profile

The Bosnia-and-Herzegovina international forward has had a distinguished career in Europe. He developed as a player in the Real Sociedad academy and went on to play for major Spanish clubs such as Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao, Valladolid, and Zaragoza—where he spent last season on loan from Ferencváros, scoring eight goals in 34 appearances.

He has won titles in three different countries: the Danish league with Copenhagen, the Hungarian league with Ferencváros, and the Spanish Super Cup with Athletic Bilbao. He has also played for Mainz, Gaziantep, and Vidi, with his time at Vidi marking one of the most productive periods of his career (44 goals in 88 games).

OFI is adding an experienced and proven forward to its roster, with the goal of strengthening its attack ahead of the new season.
