Bayern got off to a strong start in the new Bundesliga season, as… stepped up their performance after Stuttgart temporarily tied the game at 1-1 in the 52nd minute, and from that point on, they put the pedal to the metal, crushing the Swabians 5-1. Upamecano, Olise, Pavlovic, and Luis Diaz each scored a goal, along with an own goal by Wagner, who had previously equalized for Stuttgart. But the one who stole the show was Saibari, with two assists in eight minutes.
In the 21st minute, Kimmich took a corner kick from the left, and Upamecano, with an unstoppable header at the near post, sent the ball into the far corner for a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later, Brendlov stopped Luis Diaz in a one-on-one situation, preventing the second goal. Another great save by the Stuttgart goalkeeper came in the 38th minute, when Davis played a through ball to Brown and Brendlov impressively cleared it for a corner, and he also made a save on Laimer’s shot in the 41st minute.
The second half began with Stuttgart tying the game in the 52nd minute. In a sustained attack, following a cross from Midlestein, Chambot got his head to the ball, Neuer made the save, Thiago Tomás crossed again into the box, and following Pavlović’s misplay, Wagner blasted home to make it 1-1. Bayern responded immediately: Three minutes later, Michael Olise received a pass from Kimmich and scored with a beautiful finish to make it 2-1. It took less than two minutes for the score to become 3-1, with a own goal by Wagnmann following an attempt by Davies. In the 62nd minute, a goal by Olise was disallowed due to an offside call, following a VAR review.
One minute before that play, Bayern’s new signing, Moroccan Ismael Saibari, had entered the match to make his Bundesliga debut. With a brilliant run and a feint that left his opponent in the dust, he set up Pavlovic for an easy goal in the 82nd minute to make it 4-1. In the 90th minute, the Moroccan superstar provided a second assist, this time to Luis Díaz, who sealed the 5-1 victory with a beautiful finish.
