Liverpool: Agreement with Paris for Barkola at 125 million euros

The signing of the French international has been finalized
ALPHANEWSLIVE

Liverpool has finalized a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Bradley Barcola, completing one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

The “Reds” will pay the French champions a sum totaling 125 million euros, while the deal includes additional bonuses that could raise the total cost of the transfer to as much as 145 million euros.

The French international winger is expected to sign a five-year contract with Liverpool, with medicals scheduled within the next 24 hours.

Barkola has been high on the English club’s transfer list for quite some time, as he had emerged as one of the top choices to bolster the attack and fill the void left by Mohamed Salah. For his part, the 23-year-old player had expressed his desire to continue his career at Anfield, despite still having two years remaining on his contract with Paris.

The decisive breakthrough in the negotiations came after significant discussions between the two clubs. On Liverpool’s behalf, the discussions were handled by, among others, sporting director Richard Hughes, CEO Billy Hogan, and Fenway Sports Group Chairman Mike Gordon, while Nasser Al-Kelaifi represented Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcola was a key part of Luis Enrique’s team last season, making 49 appearances across all competitions, with 13 goals and seven assists to his credit. His performances are even more impressive given that he had to compete for a starting spot against players such as Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Désiré Doué.

The French forward made his first-team debut in the 2021–22 season and has since recorded a total of 152 club appearances, with 39 goals and 37 assists.
