The violent storm that struck Cyprus on Saturday, August 29, had a tragic outcome, as Dimis Mavropoulos, 76, was recovered dead from a boat found in distress in the waters off Cape Greco.
The deceased was the father of businesswoman Sylvia Mavropoulou. Two other people were rescued from the boat—his partner and one of his daughters—who were taken to the Famagusta General Hospital with injuries.
