It’s opening night for the “Clover” and… time for the Boeotians to fight back!
Tonight at 7:30 p.m., Levadiakos hosts Panathinaikos in a match for the second round of the Stoiximan Super League.
On the one hand, the home team has started the season with mixed emotions, having kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Asteras Tripolis in the Greek Cup; but the team from Boeotia then suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat at the hands of PAOK at Toumba.
The Boeotian team’s coach, Ilias Charalambous, has properly prepared his squad for their… a winning start to the league season and has announced the roster with just one absence: Taxiarchis Filon, who is still dealing with discomfort.
The roster: Anaker, Eliasi, Pantea, Manthatis, Liagas, Kornezos, Tsivelekidis, Vichos, Lamanara, Sout, Kostis, Nikas, Entiaye, Symelidis, Gkoumas, Vrakas, Papadopoulos, Ursi, Balde, Rodriguez, Bausa, Emmanouilidis, Kompnan, and Ozegovic.
On the other hand, Panathinaikos will make its own season debut in this year’s league, following the postponement they requested for Matchday 1 and the game against Kifissia, due to their first match against Hradec Králové. The picture for the “clover” is clearer, as the Greens have already played six matches in the Conference League qualifiers against Paks, CSKA 1948, and Hradec Králové.
The “clover” is coming off a heroic 2-1 victory thanks to two goals by Desers against Hradec Králové and has gained… calm and time to gel and deliver what everyone expects from the Panathinaikos organization.
As for the lineup, Jacob Nystrup will be without Tsapras, Ingason, Christiansen, Pantelidis, and Pedro Tsiriveya. On the other hand, Kings Kangwa has been included in the roster for the first time and is expected to make his debut, while Panathinaikos’s most recent signing, Imran Louza, is also on the roster.
The roster: Peña, Chávez, Kotsaris, Calabria, Kyriakopoulos, Katris, De Vrij, Van Drongelen, Palmer-Brown, Kamara, Kontouris, Biniaris, Kangwa, Taborda, Jagiusic, Louza, Pelistri, Antino, Kyriopoulos, Garcia, Tetei, Rastonder, Desers.
The most likely starting lineups:
Levadiakos (Ilias Charalambous): Anaker – Pantea, Liagas, Tsivelekidis, Vichos – Nikas, Kostis, Papadopoulos – Emmanouilidis, Balde – Ozegović
Panathinaikos (Jacob Nystrup): Peña – Calabria, De Vrij, Van Drongelen, Kyriakopoulos – Kamara, Louza, Kangwa – Pelistri, Antino, Desers
