With many questions still unanswered, the investigation continues both into the infant found dead inside a container hidden in a suitcase and into the individuals found inside the house in Kypseli wherethe macabre discovery was made.
Based on the information available so far, the 43-year-old Greek man found inside the apartment, the 28-year-old German woman who was with him, and their 15-year-old daughter—none of them were related to the apartment owner who filed the complaint that triggered the investigation — are expected to face initial charges of failing to report the discovery of a dead body.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old and the 26-year-old Afghan man, who is reportedly the 15-year-old’s boyfriend, will also be charged with drug possession.
The police officers handling the case are awaiting the medical examiner’s report, which is expected to shed light on the question of who gave birth to the infant, as they investigate the claim made by the 28-year-old German womanwho claimed that the infant was hers.
The medical examiner’s investigation is also expected to clarify whether the remains are those of a newborn or a fetus several weeks old.
The identities of the two boys, aged 12 and 9, who were found inside the apartment in Kypseli also remain a mystery.
It should be noted that it all began after an Airbnb host on Thasou Street filed a complaint stating that the people who had rented the property were not leaving and were not paying the agreed-upon rent, noting that they were using drugs.
According to information from protothema.gr, DIAS police motorcycles were passing by the location when the owner flagged them down and led them to the apartment, where they found the 43-year-old Greek man, the 28-year-old German woman, their 15-year-old daughter, and the 26-year-old Afghan man.
