Passersby put them out

Two fire outbreaks were detected around 10:40 a.m. along the road from Thalassines Spilies to the Cabo Greco Environmental Education Center.

According to the Forestry Department, the two fires were immediately extinguished by passing citizens before they could spread, and the Department expressed its gratitude for their prompt response and assistance.

Personnel from the Forestry Department and the fire department arrived at the scene and secured the fire sites. The Forestry Department remains on alert, monitoring the area.

At the same time, the causes of the fires are being investigated, and the possibility of arson has not been ruled out.
