Asteras Tripolis’s attempt to have the match against Levadiakos in the Greek Cup qualifiers awarded to them by default was dismissed in the first instance.
The Boeotians had won 2-0, securing a spot in the League Phase. However, Asteras lodged a protest, arguing that a Levadiakos player had participated in the match in violation of the rules, but the disciplinary committee ruled against them. It remains to be seen whether Asteras will file an appeal.
“The Disciplinary Committee of the Hellenic Football Federation, at its most recent meeting, rejected the protest filed by the public limited sports company ‘AGS Asteras Tripolis Soccer S.A.’ and the distinctive title ‘ASTERAS AKTOR F.C.’ regarding the Superbet Greek Cup match against Levadiakos,” according to the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO).
