Ousmane Dembélé and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement to renew their contract, with the French forward expected to sign a new contract that will keep him in Paris through 2030.
The 29-year-old international is currently under contract with the French champions through 2028, however, his performances and overall development as a player in the French capital have led the Paris Saint-Germain management to decide to act early to secure his future with the club.
According to reports that have surfaced in France, the two sides have agreed on the basic terms of the new contract. The deal has not yet been signed, but that is expected to happen within the next few weeks, barring any unexpected developments.
Of particular interest is the fact that Paris Saint-Germain accepted Dembélé’s request not to extend his contract for even more years. Thus, both sides agreed on 2030 as the end date that suits both the player and the club.
This development takes on even greater significance given the intense interest shown in the French player by clubs in Saudi Arabia. Despite the approaches and the substantial financial offers that typically accompany such proposals, Dembélé chose to continue his career at Paris Saint-Germain.
The contract extension is also an important move for the Parisians to secure his future. With his current contract set to expire in 2028, the club’s management did not want to face the risk of losing one of its most important players without financial compensation in the future.
