Gustavo Puerta is on the verge of joining Olympiacos, which is preparing to make a major move that will significantly strengthen the team.
All signs point to the deal being finalized today, as Vangelis Marinakis is expected to pay the buyout clause, according to a Spanish journalist.
“Gustavo Puerta remains in Santander pending the payment of his release clause to LaLiga, 20 million,” reports Francisco Diez.
Spanish sources reiterate that the buyout clause is 20 million euros, while it appears the transfer will take place via Nottingham Forest, from where he will move on loan to Olympiacos.
Media outlets in Spain and Colombia are reporting a final agreement among all parties involved, and for the “Red-and-Whites” to proceed with the signing of Puerta to the final stage, the next step is the payment of the buyout clause.
