A search and rescue operation involving approximately 33 foreign nationals was carried out in the sea area 10 nautical miles south of Gavdos, under the coordination of the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center (EKSE).
According to the Coast Guard, the boat they were traveling in was spotted by an unmanned aerial vehicle operated by Frontex, and the passengers were picked up by a Frontex vessel.

The 33 foreign nationals were safely transported to the port of Gavdos.
