U.S. President Donald Trump has issued new threats against Iran.
As the U.S. president emphasized in a post on Truth Social, “if the failed nation of Iran retaliates against this entirely justified attack, it will face new strikes that are far harsher and on a much higher level, but it will not be the biggest attack of all.” Meanwhile, speaking to FOX News, Trump emphasized that Iran could be completely wiped out if the war continues.
He also stated that the new U.S. airstrikes carried out this afternoon targeted radar systems in southwestern Iran, near the Strait of Hormuz, which were undergoing reconstruction, adding that the aircraft carrier USS George Washington is fully equipped to continue operations if necessary.
Trump ruled out the possibility of a new agreement with Iran, stressing that previous diplomatic efforts had failed.
Trump’s post on Truth Social in full:
“The United States is, at this very moment, striking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. The attacks are extensive and powerful, and are in retaliation for the Iranians’ failed attempt to lay minefields in the Strait, which currently contains no mines (they have been completely removed or detonated!), as well as for the Iranians’ launch of eight missiles—all of which were successfully shot down—against our military base in Jordan. If the failed nation of Iran retaliates for this entirely justified attack, it will face new strikes that are far harsher and on a higher level, but this will not be the largest attack of all; that is already in the works, and when it is over, very little will remain of the Islamic Republic of Iran!”
