At its annual refereeing seminar in Wrocław, Poland, the EuroLeague announced that 16 new referees will officiate games this season. Among them is a Greek referee, Giannis Tsibouris.
Of the 84 referees who participated in the seminar, the 16 newcomers were: Tolga Akusoglu (Turkey), Joaquín García González (Spain), Eduardo Goneya (Italy), Casil Kungo (Turkey), Dogu Berk Inal (Germany), Ignas Jablonskas (Lithuania), Dovydas Kairys (Lithuania), Karol Kowalski (Finland), Christopher Lemer (France), Vojislav Lepetić (Montenegro), Matteo Lucotti (Italy), Silvia Marciali (Italy), Marko Mustapić (Croatia), Jaroslav Pazurek (Czech Republic), Alberto Sánchez Sihto (Spain), and Ioannis Tsibouris (Greece).
Two of the 16 “newcomers” are women: Chichil Kungo (Turkey) and Silvia Marciali (Italy). Eighteen referee instructors also participated in the seminar, three of whom were also attending for the first time: Časlav Čukalović (Serbia), Benjamín Jiménez (Spain), and Roustou Nuran (Turkey).
