A meeting with representatives of companies that operate food ordering and delivery platforms in Cyprus, held in response to the recent incidents of attacks against delivery drivers, took place on Wednesday, at the initiative of Minister of Justice and Public Order Costas Fytiris.
The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Chief of Police for Crime Prevention and Combating, as well as other police officials.
As stated in a press release from the Ministry of Justice, the discussion included an exchange of views, the companies’ concerns were heard, and recommendations were made for better protection of delivery workers and the prevention of similar incidents.
At the same time, the police provided an update on the prevention and awareness measures they are already implementing, while ways to further strengthen cooperation and the immediate exchange of information with the companies were discussed.
The Ministry’s announcement notes that “the goal is to enhance the safety of delivery drivers through meaningful cooperation, timely information sharing, and coordinated preventive actions.”
