The AEK family sadly bids farewell to an important figure in Cypriot sports. Panagiotis Pieris, who made a name for himself with Pezoporikos in both soccer and basketball, has passed away, leaving behind a significant legacy.
The deceased had a long-standing presence and contribution to sports, both as an athlete and international player with the Men’s National Team, as well as in the field of coaching, while he also served for many years as an educator.
The people of Larnaca expressed their heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

“The family of the Kition Athletic Union (AEK) of Larnaca expresses its deepest sorrow over the death of veteran soccer player and athlete Panagiotis Pieris.
Panagiotis Pieris played for Pezoporikos as both a soccer player and a basketball player, winning numerous titles, and was a member of the Men’s National Team as well as a coach for EPA Larnaca and Pezoporikos’s youth team. He made a significant and long-standing contribution to Cypriot sports, and also served as an educator for many years.
