Marko Nikolić's thoughts on AEK's game against Aris. The “yellow-and-blacks” will wrap up their preparations for Saturday’s game (Sept. 5, 9:00 p.m.) against the “Yellows” for Matchday 3 of the Stoiximan Super League.
AEK has put the match against Nestos Chrysoupoli behind them, a team they faced in their opening game of the Superbet Greek Cup, winning 2-0. The Serbian coach fielded his so-called “reserves,” giving some of the starters a brief rest.
Against Aris, the 47-year-old coach is set to bring back his main “tools,” knowing that, in addition to facing a tough opponent who has started the season with two wins out of two, the match against LASK for the Champions League League Phase opener is coming up next. Therefore, his starting eleven will need to stay sharp.
The most likely starting lineup features Strakosa in goal, Rota and Pelio at fullback, and Mukundi and Relvas as center backs. Marin and Vitalis in midfield, with Meyer and Koita on the wings, while Varga and Jović lead the attack.
