Paphos started the season in the best possible way. After advancing to the League Phase of the Conference League, the “Blues” won the first Super Cup in their history.
The key factor that stood out was their playing style. Ricardo Sa Pinto’s team had a clear game plan, moved the ball effectively, and executed their combination play well. Especially in the second half, they stepped up the intensity, applied more pressure, and managed to create several scoring opportunities in the opponent’s box.

At the same time, they demonstrated that they have various ways to threaten the opponent. They did not rely exclusively on individual efforts, but tried to create opportunities through teamwork and quick transitions, as their players were eager to play vertically and exploit the open spaces that were created.
Cyprus’s “super champions” showed greater determination and made it clear they wanted the trophy more. Even when they didn’t have possession of the ball, they remained focused and tried to control the pace of the game.
Now, the Paphos team is turning its attention to the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, where next Monday (September 7) they will host Olympiacos at “Stelios Kyriakides Stadium,” with their sole goal being to earn 3 points and continue their winning streak.
