A professor at the University of Patras attempted to take measures regarding the new generation of cheat sheets ahead of the September exams.
According to pelop.gr, the professor, who is in the Department of Mathematics, has asked students in preparation for the September 17 exam to: write only in pencil, while those who need glasses to write are asked to bring a relevant medical certificate with them (editor’s note: so that those using “smart” glasses can be barred)

He reportedly explained that the measures are being taken to ensure that the exams do not turn into an “Artificial Intelligence carnival” and to ensure that those who have prepared for the course are not put at a disadvantage.
Speaking to the newspaper Peloponnisos, the rector of the University of Patras, Christos Bouras, noted that “cheating has always existed,” warning that today it is also possible to detect suspicious papers with the help of Artificial Intelligence. “Today, AI can tell us which written work is plagiarized. Some people waste time trying to plagiarize, instead of channeling all their energy into studying. They’ll face this reality as they advance in their careers,” concludes Mr. Bouras.
