The announcement: “Eight years of dedication, filled with titles, successes, and accolades! This is Yiannis Kousoulos’s journey at OMONOIA, and he has rightfully earned his place in the golden pages of our Club’s history!
The time has come to say goodbye to our Captain. Yiannis Kousoulos joined OMONOIA in the summer of 2018 from Nea Salamina, at the age of 22, and went on to have a remarkable career wearing the clover on his chest, with the captain’s armband as his badge of honor and pride, which he honored with his whole being. He celebrated five titles with Omonia in eight years (two league titles, two cups, and one shield), a first-place finish, as well as six qualifications (three for the UEFA Europa League and three for the UEFA Conference League) to the group stages of European competitions! He played in 242 matches, scored 18 goals, and provided 6 assists, while also serving as a key member of the Cyprus national team.
Beyond his great achievements on the field, Giannis Kousoulos was a true leader off the field as well. A model athlete and professional, he was always there for his teammates and had a personality that lit up the locker room. The passion that everyone saw overflowing on the field was the same every day at practice, in every victory, and in every difficult moment. Naturally, he was loved by the Omonia community and earned something truly remarkable through his own efforts: a permanent place in the hearts of everyone in our Club’s family.
Yiannis, thank you for everything!
We wish you every success in the next chapter of your career!”
