A new extension has been granted for the process to develop the "Stelios Kyriakides" Stadium in Paphos, with the Cyprus Sports Organization postponing the deadline for submitting proposals to January 8, 2027.
The CSO’s decision follows the interest expressed by investors, as well as the need for more time to finalize proposals for a complex and particularly important project for Paphos.
The announcement: “The Cyprus Sports Organization announces that it has decided to extend the deadline for submitting proposals under Tender No. 45D/2025 – ‘Granting of a Thirty (30)-Year License to Use the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in Paphos – Competitive Negotiated Procedure,” until January 8, 2027.
The decision was made following a request from an interested economic operator for additional time to fully prepare its proposal, as well as following an expression of interest from a second potential investor in participating in the process.
In considering the matter, the scope and complexity of the project were also taken into account, as well as the need for a comprehensive technical, architectural, urban planning, and traffic study, the ongoing revision of the Local Plans, and the need for preliminary consultations and coordination with the competent authorities and agencies.
The KOA determined that, under these circumstances, granting additional time serves the public interest, as it creates the conditions for broader participation in the process, strengthening competition, and the submission of more comprehensive and better-documented proposals for a project of particular importance to Paphos and Cypriot sports.
The new deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, January 8, 2027.”
