The visit of the UN Personal Envoy to Cyprus, María Ángela Olguín, which was scheduled for September 10, has been postponed, according to CNA.
As relevant sources told CNA, Nicosia was informed that Ms. Olguín’s trip has been postponed and that the possibility of meetings with her in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly during the last ten days of September.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, in his remarks, expressed the hope that the document outlining the points of convergence on the Cyprus issue, which is being prepared by the United Nations, would be ready by the time Ms. Olgin arrives in Cyprus on September 10.
It should be noted that the next one-on-one meeting between President Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman is scheduled for September 9, as part of their agreement to hold weekly meetings in the coming period.
