The police arrested two individuals as part of an investigation into a case involving the crimes of conspiracy to commit a felony, breaking and entering, theft, and malicious damage, all of which were committed in August in Nicosia.

Specifically, on September 1, 2026, a woman, a relative of the owners of a residence in Nicosia, reported to the police that, during the month of August, an unknown person or persons had broken into the home and stolen various items, including paintings, silverware, and furniture, valued at over 10,000 euros.

As part of the investigation into the case, witness testimony was obtained, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants against two individuals, aged 41 and 44.

The 41-year-old was arrested on September 2, 2026. During a search of his residence, evidence that appears to be connected to the stolen property was located and seized. The suspect appeared the following day before the Nicosia District Court, which issued an eight-day detention order against him.

The 44-year-old was arrested today, shortly after midnight, and appeared later that day before the Nicosia District Court, which issued a five-day detention order against him.

The Burglary Unit of the Nicosia CID is continuing its investigation.
